Egypt — Hurghada, Sharm el-Sheikh, Marsa Alam — has been a favourite all-inclusive destination for years. But you need internet: hotel Wi-Fi is typically slow and only stable in the lobby, and roaming in Egypt is particularly expensive since it's not an EU country.

In the typical 3–10 GB range for a one-to-two week holiday, eSIM Surfer is 25–50% cheaper than the two international competitors. For a 5 GB plan the difference is a few euros — per phone. For a family with two or three devices, that adds up.
The Airalo trap: short validity
Airalo's Egypt range has a less obvious problem: the smaller plans have very short validity. The 1 GB plan is valid for 3 days, and the 5 and 10 GB plans for 7 days. For a two-week Hurghada holiday, this means you either:
- buy a second plan along the way (another ~€14–23),
- or choose the expensive, long-validity large plan straight away (20 GB / 30 days: ~€45).

In the typical holiday range (3–10 GB) it's still significantly more expensive than eSIM Surfer, but for very large plans (over 20 GB) it's competitive, and its 20 GB plan can even be cheaper.
Things to weigh up with Yesim too:
- Dollar pricing: your bank converts the amount at purchase, typically with a 1–2% exchange markup — you actually pay more than the listed price.
- English-language support: if the eSIM won't connect at the airport, you have to solve it in English, over chat.
- Coupon-dependent promotions: the lowest advertised prices are often only valid with a discount code.
Coverage: everyone uses the same towers
An important point: eSIM providers don't build their own network in Egypt.
